Does Gwee Gym Work? Our Review.

A cursory glance at Gwee Gym may lead you to believe that this is nothing more than a fancy set of resistance bands, which can be found for much less at any sporting goods store. That, however, would be an incorrect assessment.

Whereas standard resistance bands increase and decrease resistance depending on how much they are stretched, Gwee Gym maintains a constant amount of resistance regardless of how retracted it is. This opens up a large number of exercises that would otherwise be futile on standard exercise bands.

The most useful exercises provided by Gwee Gym target the upper body, although they do propose a few lower body options as well.

Although Gwee Gym isn’t a replacement for heavy weights used to bulk up, it is a great choice for those needing to workout with lighter weight with low impact. It would be an excellent choice for travelers to take with them in order to get in a quick workout while on the go.

You get all of the benefits of a standard resistance band without any of the drawbacks.

Gwee Gym only offers a minimal amount of resistance: 1.5 pounds for the Lite, and 2.25 pounds for the Pro. This means that the product’s effectiveness relies on a high number of repetitions by the user. Those looking to bulk up with not find much of a solution here.

Bottom Line

Gwee Gym is a sort of next-gen resistance band. Because of its constant resistance, it provides a number of exercise options otherwise not available with regular bands. It is portable and low impact.

Although the product offers a high-tech resistance technology, the cost-to-resistance ratio seems somewhat inflated. $80 for 2.25 pounds of resistance is probably not going to satisfy those looking for a significant workout.
